Luxury Views Without the Luxury Price
Some destinations look as though they belong in a high end travel advertisement. Turquoise bays. Elegant old cities. Mountain hotels with enormous views. Streets lined with beautiful buildings and restaurants that appear far beyond an ordinary budget.
Then you check the real costs and find a pleasant surprise.
A destination can look expensive without requiring luxury spending. The difference usually comes from choosing local guesthouses, travelling outside the busiest season and eating where residents eat. Flights still matter, of course. Once you arrive, though, these places may offer far better value than their appearance suggests.

Albania
Albania’s coastline can easily be mistaken for a more expensive Mediterranean destination. Clear water, mountain roads, white beaches and small coastal towns give parts of the country a polished holiday feeling.
The Albanian Riviera becomes busier and more expensive in peak summer, especially around the most popular beaches. Travelling during late spring or early autumn can make accommodation easier to find and the atmosphere more relaxed.
Away from the coast, Berat and Gjirokastër offer stone streets, historic buildings and traditional guesthouses. Budget travelers in Albania spend around $44 per person per day on average, although real costs vary by season and location.
